2. Clear trash and weeds from each well by hand.
3. Loosen surface soil gently with a hand cultivator, avoiding roots.
4. Shape a water-holding basin and mulch each well, keeping mulch off trunks.
5. Water each tree and photograph every restored well with date and GPS.
