Steps

1. Photograph each assigned tree pit as found.
2. Pull weeds and litter from the pit and loosen the top few inches of soil with a hand cultivator, staying clear of roots.
3. Add compost and a 2-3 inch mulch ring, keeping mulch off the trunk itself.
4. Water each tree deeply if a spigot or carried water is available.
5. Photograph each finished pit and log the count with the block face.
