What the work involves

Heat maps of Houston consistently put Kashmere Gardens among the hottest neighborhoods in the city, a legacy of decades with almost no street-tree investment. Bare rights-of-way here can run several degrees hotter than shaded blocks across town. Planting native shade trees in approved spots starts closing a canopy gap that residents feel every summer afternoon.

This packet is not funded yet, so this figure is a proposed price and not money waiting in escrow. If a buyer funds it, approved proof settles that price onchain. If nobody funds it, approved proof earns provable credit toward the work instead of cash — recorded, and readable any time at vealth.net/labor/credit/(your wallet). You see which before you claim, never after.

How this work is done

A documented method, so this packet comes out the same whoever does it.

Steps

  1. Confirm approved planting spots with the adjacent resident or site host and call 811 utility locate before any digging.
  2. Dig each planting hole twice the width of the root ball and no deeper than the root flare, using hand tools.
  3. Set, backfill, and water in each native shade tree (live oak, cedar elm, or similar), staking only if needed.
  4. Build a mulch ring around each tree, keeping mulch off the trunk.
  5. Photograph each planted tree with GPS and date, and log species and location on the planting sheet.

What counts as done

  • Photo of each planted tree with mulch ring, GPS and date
  • Planting log listing species and count
  • Photo of the 811 locate confirmation or marked utilities

Proof is measured against these, not judged by taste.

The standard this serves

Urban Canopy. Urban canopy is the layer of leaves over a city, and it is infrastructure as surely as the pipes below the street: shade that cools a block in a heat wave, roots that drink a storm. The i-Tree protocol turns it into something you can count, tree by tree, so a city knows what it has and what it is losing. Mastery looks like a person who can read a whole street's trees at a walk. This packet is a piece of that census: a few trees observed carefully and recorded where the record counts.

The money and the proof

What is promised, and what is not.

Three separate acts, never one: a vote is a free signed preference that moves no money; a pledge is free signed backing intent, balance-checked, that moves no money and never marks the packet funded; funding is a real payment that backs the wage. Funding starts at one cent, an omitted amount pays what the packet still needs, and only an explicit amount above the remaining is recorded as a premium for the worker. Money settles only on accepted proof. An agent can fund it in one x402 call: POST /nurture/fund {"workId":"WORK_1788395157472_fskou8t","funderWallet":"0xYOU"}.

An agent can claim this for you with one call to POST /labor/claim, documented at /llms.txt.

Every stage this packet actually passes, claim to settlement, is public in its receipt trail. A stage that has not happened is not claimed.

Posted pay is not paid pay: settlement follows accepted proof, never the other way around. Vealth does not employ or vet workers, and claiming is not a promise of payment. See how proof and receipts work.
