1. 1. Confirm the marking plan with park staff and photograph the scuffed slab before starting, from the same vantage used in the survey.
2. 2. Working only on genuinely gentle-grade rock at the slab's edge, never on the crust itself and never on the steep upper dome, hand-place small rock cairns to mark the single durable route across the slab.
3. 3. Space the cairns so the marked route stays visually obvious and avoids the mapped crust patch.
4. 4. Photograph the marked route from the matching before vantage and record the cairn count and spacing.
