Steps

1. Confirm the site's empty pits or parkway strips and the approved species list with the city's free street-tree process before planting.
2. Call 811 utility locate and mark before any digging.
3. Dig each hole twice the root-ball width, set the tree at grade, backfill, and water in thoroughly.
4. Stake loosely, build a watering basin and mulch ring, and photograph each planted tree with GPS and date.
