Fresh pads restore even wetting and real cooling capacity ahead of the next hot season. This follows the door sealing as the next weatherization step for the same building.

  1. Shut off the cooler and water line, then open the side panels of the pad-mounted or window-mounted unit.
  2. Pull the old, mineral-crusted pads and hose out the basin and float valve.
  3. Cut and set new pads to the exact frame size on all sides of the unit.
  4. Restore water and power, run the unit, and check for even wetting across every pad.
  5. Photograph the new pads in place and log the service date for next season.
