3. 3. Using hand tools and a brush cutter, clear vegetation from the control line down to bare mineral soil, staying well clear of any standing snag. Standing dead trees (snags) can fail and drop limbs without warning; keep at least 30 feet of stand off from any standing snag at all times and never work beneath one. This work maintains the control line only and never lights, tends, or manages an active fire; igniting or managing a prescribed fire is never authored as work at any skill level in this library.
4. 4. Photograph the cleared control line and confirm it reaches bare mineral soil along its length.
