1. 1. Photograph the brush-choked apron before starting, from the same public vantage used in the survey.
2. 2. Confirm with the WMA biologist that the apron is cleared for brush work and that no bighorn are on or near the escape terrain above. This work never approaches, follows, herds, or photographs bighorn sheep at close range, and never uses a drone; if bighorn are visibly using a water source, withdraw immediately and do not begin or continue any work there while they are present.
3. 3. Using a chainsaw or brush cutter, selectively clear dense brush from the gentle valley-floor apron below the escape terrain, never climbing or working on the terrain itself. This work never climbs, scrambles onto, or otherwise works on escape terrain, the steep rock desert bighorn sheep use specifically because predators cannot follow; every observation here is made from the public road, a designated pull-off, or the WMA's public access area, using binoculars or a spotting scope, never on foot on the terrain itself.
4. 4. Stack the cut material away from the public access route, and photograph the cleared apron showing open sightlines to the terrain base.
