1. 1. Photograph the bare or thin buffer gap before starting, from the same public vantage used in the survey.
2. 2. Confirm with park staff that the planting location is approved and is on the park's public accessible ground, never inside Honey Creek State Natural Area. This work happens only during a scheduled Friends of Guadalupe River State Park and Honey Creek guided walk (registration required, no pets); Honey Creek State Natural Area is never entered outside a scheduled public guided tour, at any skill level.
3. 3. Hand dig small planting holes and set native Hill Country buffer species (such as inland sea oats, frogfruit, or cedar sedge) at the gap, hand tools only, working from the buffer's landward edge and never stepping into the creek or spring. This work never enters the creek or spring, never wades or steps into the water, never walks the creek bed, and never touches or disturbs the travertine formations or moss at any skill level.
4. 4. Water in the planting, mulch, and photograph the finished buffer gap.
