What the work involves

A single wild-collected Maximilian sunflower (Helianthus maximiliani) seed lot from Cedar Hill State Park is too small to supply more than one restoration planting; a small home increase plot grows that same local-ecotype lot into a substantially larger, still provenance-tracked seed supply.

This packet is not funded yet, so this figure is a proposed price and not money waiting in escrow. If a buyer funds it, approved proof settles that price onchain. If nobody funds it, approved proof earns provable credit toward the work instead of cash — recorded, and readable any time at vealth.net/labor/credit/(your wallet). You see which before you claim, never after.

homeowner or resident permission record plus establishment and harvest photos plus bed area and yield record plus ecoregion label photo

This is exactly what gets it approved. Nothing settles without it.

How this work is done

A documented method, so this packet comes out the same whoever does it.

Steps

  1. 1. With the resident's consent, prepare a small dedicated bed in the home yard, amending the soil, and confirm the bed is not shared with any other seed lot's increase planting.
  2. 2. Sow the cleaned Maximilian sunflower (Helianthus maximiliani) seed lot from this single Blackland Prairie collection at the recommended density for the species, and label the bed with the species and ecoregion of origin. The ecoregion and general site of origin of every collected seed lot is recorded at the moment of collection and travels with that lot, on its label, through cleaning, increase, and storage; collected seed is never moved outside the ecoregion it came from at any stage, because local adaptation only works if the seed stays local.
  3. 3. Tend the increase plot (weeding, watering as needed) through the growing season, and photograph the plot at establishment and again at flowering or seed set.
  4. 4. At maturity, hand harvest the increase plot's own seed crop, which yields substantially more seed than the original wild collected lot, keeping the ecoregion label with the harvested material.

What counts as done

  • Written or recorded permission from the resident
  • Establishment photo of the sown, labeled increase bed
  • Confirmation that this job's seed lot was collected only after permission was obtained first from the managing public agency, and never from a stand that was small or of a rare, threatened, or conservation-concern species; that no more than one in five (20 percent) of the available seed was ever taken from the wild stand, with the estimated total and fraction taken recorded; that no precise coordinate of the individual collected stand was ever published; that the ecoregion and general site of origin travel with the seed lot and it was never moved outside that ecoregion; and that nothing was co
  • Harvested seed weight recorded against the original sown weight
  • Harvest photo of the increase plot's own seed crop with its ecoregion label

Proof is measured against these, not judged by taste.

The standard this serves

Soil Health. Soil health is the discovery, now written into USDA standards, that soil is not dirt but a living body: it breathes, digests, holds water, and can sicken or recover. The tests are wonderfully physical. Time how fast water soaks in. See whether a clod holds together in water or falls apart. Smell for the sweetness of organic matter. Mastery looks like a farmer who can read a handful of ground like a page. This packet is one plot examined by those methods and recorded, one honest page in the story of a piece of land.

The money and the proof

What is promised, and what is not.

Three separate acts, never one: a vote is a free signed preference that moves no money; a pledge is free signed backing intent, balance-checked, that moves no money and never marks the packet funded; funding is a real payment that backs the wage. Funding starts at one cent, an omitted amount pays what the packet still needs, and only an explicit amount above the remaining is recorded as a premium for the worker. Money settles only on accepted proof. An agent can fund it in one x402 call: POST /nurture/fund {"workId":"WORK_1788671237099_eerjxwz","funderWallet":"0xYOU"}.

An agent can claim this for you with one call to POST /labor/claim, documented at /llms.txt.

Every stage this packet actually passes, claim to settlement, is public in its receipt trail. A stage that has not happened is not claimed.

Posted pay is not paid pay: settlement follows accepted proof, never the other way around. Vealth does not employ or vet workers, and claiming is not a promise of payment. See how proof and receipts work.
