A community that holds standing forest in Madre de Dios can only defend what it can show. New clearings, cut stumps, fresh skid or vehicle tracks, snare or trap sign, invasive spread along the line, and trail washouts all begin small: cheap to answer in the first weeks, expensive to answer a year later. Nobody is paid to walk the line, so the record that would prove any of it exists only as somebody's memory. This packet pays for the walk itself. One named boundary or trail segment, named by the community's own steward at claim time, walked once end to end on foot, with a dated, located, photographed condition record handed back to that steward the same day. What the community gets is a defensible time-stamped record for a segment that had none, held by the people who hold the land, plus a ranked list of what needs doing next and where. The pay is for three hours of a person's attention on foot in hot, wet forest carrying an evidence discipline an ordinary walk does not carry: a waypoint at fixed spacing, a GPS fix and a photograph at every finding, and a hash taken before the photographs leave the phone. It is paid for the hours and the discipline, never for a result nobody can promise. This is a condition record, not a carbon claim, and the house funds none of it.

How this work is done

A documented method, so this packet comes out the same whoever does it.

Steps

1. Get the segment from the community steward before you start: its name, its start and end point, and who receives the record. Agree the route on their map, not yours. If nobody can name the segment, do not walk it.
2. Record the start: GPS fix, time, weather, and who is walking. Photograph the start point so the segment can be re-walked by someone else on the same line later.
3. Walk the segment end to end on foot at a steady pace, taking a waypoint every 250 m whether or not there is anything to report. An empty waypoint is evidence too: it is how a later reader knows the line was actually walked.
4. At every finding stop and record four things: a GPS fix, at least two photographs (one wide enough to place it, one close enough to read it), a one-line description in plain words, and a severity you can defend (noted, worsening, urgent). Findings are clearings, cut stumps, skid or vehicle tracks, snare or trap sign, invasive spread along the line, trail washout, and damaged or missing boundary markers.
5. Stay at a distance from anything that is somebody else's activity. Photograph snares, traps, camps and machinery from where you stand; never approach, touch, dismantle, or confront anyone. If people are present and working, end the walk and report that instead.
6. Record the end: GPS fix, time, total distance and total hours on the line, honestly, including breaks taken out.
7. Take the SHA-256 hash of every photograph before it leaves the phone, and list the hashes with their waypoints. The hashes are what let the record be checked later without anyone trusting the photographs.
8. Hand the record to the community steward the same day, in the form they asked for, and get their acknowledgement. Then rank the findings worst first and name, for each, the follow-on job it calls for.

What counts as done

• Waypoint list or GPS track covering the segment end to end, one waypoint at least every 250 m, inside the packet's own place cluster
• At least two photographs per finding, each with its SHA-256 hash recorded before upload, and each tied to a waypoint
• Finding list: plain-words description, location, and a severity of noted, worsening or urgent, ranked worst first
• Start and end GPS fix with times, and the total hours actually spent on the line
• Acknowledgement from the community steward that the record was received
