Steps
- 1. Confirm a planting spot at least 15 feet back from the pool's coping and clear of the equipment pad and any underground utility line (811 locate honored), never inside the fenced pool enclosure itself.
- 2. Choose a native, drought-tolerant species suited to the Rolling Plains, a western soapberry or netleaf hackberry, whose mature canopy will not overhang the water or the equipment pad.
- 3. Dig the planting hole by hand at the correct depth, backfill with native soil, mulch, and form a watering basin, photographing the bare spot before and the finished planting after.
