Alone among its retail peers, Target ships a real llms.txt: a live agent map at HTTP 200. It's labeled "Phase 1," and it stops at shopping: no Target Forward commitments, no agent card, no way for an agent to verify anything. This concept completes the surface Target started: the sustainability commitments made machine-readable, and a per-store proof layer under Target Forward: restore work done at a store, proven with photo + GPS + signature, settled to a permanent on-chain receipt with its tCO2e. Verified place, verified restored, verified funded.
We found that Target already ships the one thing most retailers don't: a real file that lets AI assistants read the store, but it stops at shopping, with no way for an agent to verify anything about Target Forward.
