Vealth · Safety
Safety comes before any packet.
Vealth's entry work is meant to be things an ordinary person can do safely from a public sidewalk. These rules are not optional; they are part of every packet. When in doubt, skip it and say so; an honest gap always beats a risky photo.
Not an emergency channel
If someone is in danger, call 911 now. Vealth is not monitored live and will not bring help. Packets are reviewed by hand, later.
The core rules
- Public spaces only
Work from public sidewalks and public spaces. Never enter private property, even for a better photo.
- Document, don't touch
Survey and inspection packets are documentation. Photograph the condition; never move, fix, or handle a hazard.
- No people
No faces, no license plates, no photos into homes or cars. If someone is in frame, wait or skip.
- Skip unsafe spots
Never step into traffic or an unsafe area for an angle. Skip it and write "skipped: unsafe" in your notes.
- Stop-work
If something feels off or a stop-work condition appears, stop and email. That instinct is part of the job.
A packet never asks for anything beyond its written scope. Nothing on this board is worth an injury.
Regulated & hazardous work is document-only
Some work is regulated for good reason. On the board, any packet touching the trades below is document-only and carries a "Document-only · trained / credentialed" label. You may only observe and record from a safe, public vantage. You must never enter, touch, or perform the hazardous task; that requires a licensed, trained crew with the right permits and equipment. These are never "anyone, today" packets.
- Confined spaces
Vaults, tanks, manholes, sewers: deadly atmospheres. Observe from outside only.
- Trenching & excavation
Cave-in risk. Never enter an excavation.
- Crane & rigging
Overhead loads. Stay clear of the swing radius.
- Silica, lead-safe, PFAS
Airborne and chemical hazards. Documentation only; no disturbance of materials.
- Lockout / tagout
Energized systems. Never operate, bypass, or handle equipment.
- Demolition
Structural and falling-object risk. Observe from a safe distance only.
If a packet asks you to do any of the above hands-on, it is mislabeled: stop and email [email protected].
The boundary
An honest gap beats a risky photo, always.
Your receipt will say exactly what you did and what it proves. It never asks you to prove more than you could safely observe. See also Your first packet, Terms, and Privacy.
